'Ze is harpiste en componiste, van toegepaste muziek, zoals ze dat zelf noemt. Ze voegt haar muziek graag aan een ander spoor, van beelden, of poëzie bijvoorbeeld. En ook als haar noten op zichzelf staan, dan hebben ze evidente een filmische kwaliteit, film zonder film zou je kunnen zeggen. De piano stukken worden gespeeld door Jeroen van Vliet (prachtig!). Voor Anne Vanschothorst zijn het een soort dromen, bubbels buiten de maar al te rauwe werkelijkheid. Heimwee herinnert aan een bezoek aan IJsland, solitair landschap, waar een gevoel van 'saudade' binnensloop, om het op zijn Portugees te zeggen, een onvervulbaar verlangen. Met het nummer, The tide turned, bewijst ze eer aan schrijfster/filosofe Joke Hermsen, die in coronatijd een inspiratiebron bleek. My harp improvisations are translated and changed into sheet music and Jeroen van Vliet transformed the written note-scores in his home-studio and made the music his own. Ambient and reflective. Then I selected a piano track that I transferred to Maarten Vos, he gave my composition edge and just enough discomfort to balance the soft piano. Beautiful weird dreamy sonic landscapes appeared on the horizon .. Harriët van Reek illustrated a fantastic landscape where one can wander & wonder; a dream world that enhances the imagination of the listener during the piano sound experience / installation: headphones/audio/photograph/text
